Buncombe County Schools & Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool

Mountain Oasis is proud to support creativity and education in Western North Carolina by donating a portion of each ticket purchased to Buncombe County Schools Foundation and Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, the Bob Moog Foundation’s hallmark education project. Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool engages second graders in the science of sound through the magic of music. The nine-week experiential curriculum has met with accolades from students, teachers, parents and administrators. Presently in its third year, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool is inspiring 1000 students in three school districts in Western North Carolina. The Foundation’s goal is to grow the program regionally and nationwide. We are proud to support the expansion of Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, which will enable the Bob Moog Foundation to continue to inspire children to become the innovators of tomorrow. We are also proud to support Western North Carolina’s largest school district, Buncombe County Schools, which serves over 25,000 students in 42 schools. The Bob Moog Foundation and Buncombe County Schools proudly collaborate to bring Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool to over 20 classrooms in the district.

Volunteer Oasis

In partnership with AC Entertainment and Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company, the Asheville Parks & Greenways Foundation will host Volunteer Oasis in conjunction with the festival on Saturday, October 26 from 10AM to 12PM. Participants may choose one of two locations for their hands-on experience to help beautify Asheville’s Parks & Greenways: Carrier Park or Broadway Avenue/Reid Creek Greenway. As a thanks to all those who participate, Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company will host a pizza party immediately following the project and will award the first 50 volunteers with a free t-shirt. All volunteers will be entered to win a chance to attend Saturday and Sunday of the festival. Mountain Oasis is vested in the community and excited to work with all parties to help preserve Asheville’s natural spaces.
